An extremely bold She-oak skink (Cyclodomorphus casuarinae) ~18cm on Maria Island, Tasmania. Maria Island is completely protected as a national park and visitor numbers are monitored. The wild animals are usually unafraid of people and in this case, sat still while I took macro shots and then petted it.

Ironically, the She-oak skink is described as being shy and hard to observe.
