Disorganised, vaguely amusing noob ramble ahead, feel free to disagree...

1. After a massive config tweak, it now runs at a decent performance, decent enough so that I'm not confined to being an Engie and building things. I went Demo a lot last night and filled a sniper nest with grenades. That was fun.

2. This comes at the cost of random hang. I go Medic a lot now and feel terrible when my buddy charges headlong into a brawl and my computer crashes. I really must get used to a more independent class soon.

3. Does anyone know a config tweak so that I will always reverse mouselook without having to reconfigure it at startup? I have reverse-mouselooked ever game I've ever played. Its a small issue but adds to the hideous amount of time needed for me to actually play.

4. Medic is good for noobs. The wall, alas, is still my number one enemy. Yes, I still crash into them. The Medigun beam tells me where to turn while my partner facepalms.

5. On the same note, having no Medic unlocks, I find that the syringe gun is highly underrated. I can't count the number of times my buddy dies (not for lack of healing!) and I take out the person who did that. The scariest case was being stuck alone in a corridor in the enemy base, with two sentres that killed my buddy round the corner in front and at least one Demo in the other direction. One Scout, one Spy, and one !!Soldier!! died before they wisened up and realised they weren't alone.

7. When you are a noob in a Sniper war, go Engineer.

8. This is a nod to my SniperxMedic slash friends. Despite criticism I hear about the practice, I heal Snipers - just a quick buzz when I pass them. They know I'm a noob when i sometimes collide into the nearest wall doing that, but seem happy to lay down suppressive fire and put out flames on me in return. For a class with such low health they can also return to their favorite station quickly. And when two Huntsman snipers are all that stands between me and an onrushing charge of heavys and soldiers, and the others don't tell me where they are...I OVERHEAL AND UBER THEM.

9. Everyone says I'm German. This is different from the two dweebs I have mentioned before. Even two other Asian guys I was with said I was German. I was not doing Medic at the time either. I've given up correcting them. What gives?

10. When a person who sounds clearly female uses the mic, everyone suddenly talks much more politely, esp. in asian servers.

11. When team members have used my teleporter FIFTY-EIGHT times, my sentry has been tearing you to pieces, and my dispenser is in near constant use, I don't care if I'm a noob that you call retarded and swear at in Cantonese constantly for half an hour. For one thing, admins have ears and are liable to give my shotgun a 100% crit rate.
